Being named Agent of the Month once is a nice moment. Being named three times in the same year does something different. It makes you stop and look back at how you actually got there.
KW Park City Keller Williams Real Estate named me Agent of the Month for April 2026, and then again for June and July, back-to-back. I appreciate the recognition. What I keep thinking about is the list of people it really belongs to.
Every Closing Started With a Conversation
None of this started with a transaction. It started with a phone call, an email, or a conversation at a kitchen table. Someone was thinking about selling a property they had owned for fifteen years. Someone else was trying to decide whether a ski property made sense for them. Another person was relocating and did not know where to begin.
Those conversations are the real work. The closing is just the last step.
Every client this year made a decision to trust me with something significant. A home. An investment. A move. In many cases, a decision that shapes the next chapter of their life. I do not take that lightly, and I want to say clearly that I know it was a choice. There are a lot of capable agents working in Park City. Choosing to work with me was never automatic.
What the Year Looks Like on Paper
Here are the numbers, with the qualifications they deserve.
As of July 31, 2026, I have closed 20 transactions representing $69,448,000 in sales volume year to date. That figure reflects closed MLS transactions where I represented the buyer or the seller, including three where I worked alongside a colleague and shared credit. It does not include private or off-market sales, and it does not include business currently under contract.
I am also the number one Keller Williams agent in the State of Utah for 2026 year to date. That is a separate accomplishment from the monthly awards, and I mention it only because it points back to the same thing: a lot of people trusted me this year.
The numbers were the easiest part of this post to write, and they are the least interesting part to me.
The Part Nobody Sees
Behind those closings were hundreds of phone calls. Showings that ran long. Inspections that turned up real problems. Appraisals that came in low. Contracts that had to be renegotiated late at night because something changed.
Real estate looks simple from the outside. A property gets listed, someone buys it, everyone signs. The actual job is the problem-solving in between, and most clients never see the majority of it. That is on purpose. My job is to absorb that pressure so the people I work for can make clear decisions with good information.
Some of this year's closings were luxury homes in Park City and Deer Valley. Some were land in Kamas. Some were smaller properties in Heber Valley, Midway, and near the Jordanelle. The price never changes the standard. A $610,000 transaction gets the same preparation as a $13.5 million one. I have never understood agents who work any other way.
Referrals and Repeat Clients Are the Whole Business
A large share of this year came from people I had already worked with, or from people they sent my way.
That means more to me than any award. A referral is someone putting their own reputation on the line. When a past client tells a friend to call me, they are saying they would do it again. That is the only review that counts.
Several people I worked with this year started as clients and are now friends. We ski together. We run into each other around town. That is one of the better parts of doing this work in a community this size.
The People Behind the Work
My team deserves to be named. Lana Harris, Grayson West, Shelby Sisson, and Holly Carlson each carried part of this year. Everything that happens before a listing goes live and after a contract is signed is not work I do alone, and the standard we hold is shared.
Many of this year's closings were transactions I worked alongside Lana. Those belong to her as much as they do to me.
My colleagues at KW Park City Keller Williams Real Estate deserve credit as well. This is a competitive office full of agents who are very good at what they do. Being recognized inside a group like that means something, and the office is better for the level everyone brings.
The people closest to me at home carried more than their share this year. Showings on weekends, calls during dinner, travel that came up on short notice. They made the year possible!
The Recognition Was Never the Goal
I appreciate being recognized. It matters to me. But an award was never the objective, and it is not what I measure.
What I measure is whether I gave good advice. Whether I protected my client's position in a negotiation. Whether I told someone not to buy a property when it was wrong for them, even when that cost me a commission. Whether the people I worked with felt informed instead of pressured.
Do those things consistently, and the results follow. Chase the results directly, and the advice gets worse.
If you want to see what the market itself did over the same period, the mid-year Park City market report covers the numbers in detail.
Thank You
To every client who trusted me in 2026, thank you. You are the reason for all three of those recognitions, and I know it.
If you are thinking about buying, selling, or looking at investment properties in Park City, Deer Valley, the Jordanelle, Heber Valley, or anywhere along the Wasatch Back, I am glad to talk. No pressure and no obligation. Just a conversation, which is where all of this starts anyway.
