What is the Best Area to Own a Home in Deer Valley?

Buying a home in the Deer Valley resort area gives you many options. However, first, I think it's always a good idea to broaden your search and consider whether a large Deer Valley condominium would also be a good option for you.

Your budget will be the first way to trim down your Deer Valley real estate search. I tend to put a ten to twenty percent cushion on a home search, so buyers understand the market a little above where they are looking to purchase and a little below. Also, depending on your search, you may only have a few homes on the Park City MLS.

Next, you need to decide how much ski access plays into your decision. If you demand the best ski access, you'll want to be in Upper Deer Valley or the Empire Pass area. The runs in Deer Crest can be challenging, especially during the early or late ski season.

If there is limited inventory, the age of a home can be one of the most challenging aspects of your search. Previous owners may have built houses in the prime Deer Valley parcels first, so don't rule out a home with great bones and extensive views because it isn't new construction. Typically, you can easily update a Deer Valley home without moving too many walls or making significant additions, as the square footage tends to be large, and even homes built in the 1990s often feature open floor plans.

Extensive Views: Everyone wants a great big view when searching for a home in Deer Valley. However, some prefer to feel nestled in the trees, so we offer options for an "in the trees" experience.
